Steve Jefferson

Steve Jefferson joined WTHR NBC Indianapolis in June 2002. He has served as a reporter and anchor for television and radio stations in Ohio, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi and Oregon. He was won numerous professional awards including two Emmy's, an Edward R. Murrow, Best Newscast from the Associated Press and various community service awards. He's reported on major events including the Atlanta bombings, The 100 Million Man March, the Georgia floods and Hurricanes George and Katrina.
Steve is from Dayton, Ohio where he graduated from Wright State University in journalism. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists where he serves as President, 100 Black Men of Indianapolis, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Steve is an Executive Officer for Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana and offers his personal time to countless local and national organizations as President & Chairman of Grace Apostolic Church, The Indianapolis Press Club Foundation, Center for Leadership Development, IMAGINE School Corporation and others.
He enjoys social media, exercising, traveling, roller skating, bike riding, running, pro sports and word games. Steve and his family reside in Indianapolis where you will often see him on his motorcycle enjoying the breeze.
