Andrea Morehead
Four-time Emmy Award-winning television broadcaster Andrea Morehead anchors the weekday 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts for WTHR NBC 13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.She has been with Channel 13 since 1999 and has field-anchored major events including the 2000 NBA Championships; 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia; 2002 Final Four in Atlanta, Georgia; 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah; and 2009 Presidential Inauguration. She is also an Edward R. Murrow award recipient.
Morehead takes viewers behind the scenes of many NBC Network dramas and comedies including Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago Justice, Chicago P.D., and The Voice. She's also appeared as an extra on Parks and Recreation. Morehead is the station's most requested public speaker and can be seen lending her voice and talents to a number of philanthropic efforts and community organizations.
Morehead came to WTHR from WOOD TV-8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she anchored the 6 and 11 weekend evening newscasts. She's served as a reporter, assistant producer and assignment editor for WXIN in Indianapolis. Her television career began as a Production Intern at Koppel Communications in Washington, D.C. and worked as a Management Council Law Clerk for the National Football League in New York, New York. She was a reporter and anchor for the weekday evening newscast with WGMC TV in Worchester, Massachusetts. Morehead earned her B.A. in Communications/Journalism, graduating summa cum laude from Howard University and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University - Bloomington.
